Former Kaduwela Mayor Ranjan Jayalal says that this victory is not personal, and that it is not just himself and his team that should sacrifice for the country, but that the current generation should also make similar sacrifices.
He stated that he and his group have dedicated themselves for 42 years, sacrificing their lives and blood for the current political victory, and that since they are not "repentant sinners," they have the ability to transform into any situation at any moment.
He said this while addressing the 'Ceylon Electricity Workers' Union National Conference 2026'.
He recalled that the trade union movement made great sacrifices over decades to bring the country to the state it is in today.
He stated that although he is not in the positions of the Electricity Board or relevant institutions, he is actively working externally and is ready to act at any time.
