Former President Mahinda Rajapaksa says that he possesses the real strength needed to free the country from the current economic crisis and end the oppression faced by the people, and that he should be given power again to do so.
The former president says that if given such power, it will be proven through action.
The former President made this statement in direct response to a question posed by a journalist.
Expressing his regret over the economic difficulties prevailing in the country, Mahinda Rajapaksa pointed out that the people living in Sri Lanka today are facing extreme hardships.
"Today, there are people in the country who are living very difficult lives. From the perspective of the people, I don't think there is a situation where they can even cover their daily expenses."
